wein.plus - logo 2020 Europe's leading independent internet platform on the subject of wine with a newly created logo as part of a website relaunch in July 2020 and the motto "your plus in wine expertise". The open information and communication network for more than 200,000 registered private and professional wine lovers was founded in 1998 and is used by over 6,000 people every day. Users can find out about wine, make contacts, find support and promote their wine business. The publisher is Utz Graafmann. wein.plus brings together questions and answers, supply and demand and, in addition to the virtual network, also creates a real network in which winegrowers, retailers, journalists and private wine enthusiasts can come into contact and also do business. The website is public, but certain information and functions are reserved for members. Registration is free and non-binding and does not automatically lead to a paid membership.

Members have access to all content and can use the entire range of services without restriction. Wine producers and traders receive marketing and cost benefits through the network. wein.plus is financed not only by membership fees but also by the sale of advertising, marketing and web services relating to the platform. The range of services includes a wine guide, Wine lexicon with around 26,000 keywords and an online magazine. The wine guide contains professional wine ratings of over 150,000 wines from around 24,000 producers and is updated every working day. The tasting and evaluation practice is much stricter than that of other media. The magazine provides the latest news and background articles on wine regions, winegrowers and wines, wine law and the wine industry, as well as events and new vintages.

Every month, a "BEST OF" is published with the top wines on specific tasting topics. With many other sections, wein.plus covers a total of over half a million web pages. More than 100,000 international recipients receive the wein.plus newsletter every month, which includes the latest magazine articles and current tasting notes on wines rated according to the 100-point system. The web catalogue is a comprehensive directory of several thousand wine-related websites. In the shopping area, around 180,000 wines from over 350 wine suppliers are summarised in a database that enables a systematic search for sources of supply. The business section, which offers marketing support and framework agreements with industry-related service providers, is aimed specifically at wine suppliers.
