The winery is located in the municipality of Großkrut in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Weinviertel. It is managed by Franz Weingartshofer, who converted the winery to the production of exclusively quality wines in 2000. In 2004 he passed the final examination to become a master vintner and cellarer; in the same year the wine cellar on the Großkruter Kellerberg was newly built. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vineyards planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Blauburger and Cabernet Sauvignon. The quality criteria are reduced yields through appropriate pruning and thinning out of grapes, as well as manual harvesting at the optimal time of ripeness. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The premium wines include, for example, Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner), Grüner Veltliner Messwein and the red wine cuvée "Mystique" (all four varieties). Noble brandies (pomace, wine, fruit) are also produced. In years with suitable weather conditions, ice wines are also produced.
