The estate is located in the commune of Großkrut in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Weinviertel
, It is run by Franz Weingartshofer, who converted the business in 2000 to produce only quality wines. In 2004 he passed the final exam for winemaker and cellar master; in the same year the wine cellar on the Grosskruter Kellerberg was also rebuilt. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vines, the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, as well as the red wine varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Blauburger and Cabernet Sauvignon. The quality criteria are reduced yields through appropriate pruning and, thin out
of grapes, as well as hand picking at the optimal ripening time. The fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Premium wines include, for example Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner), Grüner Veltliner altar wine
and the red wine blend "Mystique" (all four varieties). Fine brandies (pomace, wine, fruit) are also produced. If the weather is suitable, ice wines are also pressed.
