The white grape variety (also K2) is a South African new breed between Chenin Blanc x Ugni Blanc ( Trebbiano Toscano ). The crossing took place in South Africa in 1978 by Prof. Christiaan Johannes Orffer (1926-2008). The variety was created with the same parents Chenel, The productive vine was specially developed for warm climates with intensive artificial irrigation and the necessary putrefaction resistance. It is also resistant to real ones mildew, It produces acidic white wines that are often used for distillation be used. In 2010, 14 hectares of vineyards were recorded with a downward trend (Kym Anderson ).
