The winery is located in the municipality of Glanz a. d. Weinstraße in the Austrian wine-growing region of South Styria. Wine-growing has been practised on the traditional farm and in the family since 1682. Andreas Tscheppe senior was one of the Styrian winegrowing pioneers, among other things he introduced new cultivation methods and vineyard equipment suitable for steep slopes to his farm. His two sons, Andreas Jr. and Ewald, completed their education at the viticulture school Silberberg. Until 2004 the estate operated under the name "Andreas Tscheppe", now it is run under the new name "Weingut Werlitsch" (old house name) by Ewald and Brigitte Tscheppe (Andreas Tscheppe jun. built up an independent business).

The vineyards cover nine hectares of vineyards near the Slovenian border in the Langegg and Unterglanzberg vineyards. They are planted exclusively with white wine varieties, namely Sauvignon Blanc (50%), Morillon (35%), Gelber Muskateller and Welschriesling. The vineyards are cultivated using biodynamic methods in accordance with the guidelines of the DEMETER organic association. The focus is on the different soil types, the bedrock consists of Opok (lime marl with a pH >7).

The wines are vinified as cuvées under the designation "EX VERO I, II and III", whereby the varietal proportions are not specified. They always go through a BSA. EX VERO stands for exposure and steepness of the site; I is the end of the slope with bedrock lower than half a metre of brown earth, II the middle and III the uppermost area of the slope, where the vines are rooted directly in the rock lying just below the surface. They are usually aged for two years in wooden barrels before bottling. As a second line, there is Orange Wine fermented on the mash. The winery is part of the "Taste Life" community of values.
