Taste peculiarity of certain American vines and the wine made from it, which according to European taste is mostly to be understood negatively (amazingly, this tone is perceived as pleasant in Japan). Other names for Foxton are fox taste, fox taste, cat safe, skunk tone (skunk tone) and bug taste. The very often used term Hybridton is actually misleading, since not all hybrids have that tone. The name Foxton was chosen based on the similarity of the scent around a burrow or the smell of fox urine (cat urine), wet fox fur and animal faeces.
