The white grape variety probably comes from Hungary, There are around 60 synonyms, which indicates old age and earlier widespread use. Some of them are Augster Biely, Augster Blanc, Augster Yellow, Bajor Buher, Cascarolo, Cserbajor Fehér, Fehér Gohér, Early White, Green Lagler, Ragusana, Törökgohér, White Lagler and White Foxglove. You must not use the Italian variety Cascarolo Bianco to be confused / equated, like Pomologist Hermann Goethe (1837-1911) had incorrectly suspected. According to in 2012 DNA analysis is from a presumably natural cross between Alba Imputotato x Lisztes Fehér emerged. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see under molecular Genetics ).
