Wiesler Michael

The estate is located in the municipality of Staufen (Markgräflerland area) in the German wine-growing region to bathe, It was founded in 1927 by Alfred Wiesler. Since 1990, the third-generation operation has been managed by Michael and Kristina Wiesler. In 2003, a Gutsschanke was opened. The vineyards cover seven hectares of vineyards in a single location Schlossberg (Staufen). They are planted with the white varieties Gutedel, White Burgundy, Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gewürztraminer, and with the red wine variety Spätburgunder. The Burgundersorten are the special strength of the winery. The best wines of a vintage from low-yielding vineyards, some from the 1950s, will be carefully on the lees with high varietal expanded and marketed as "Wiesler Edition". Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and brandies (yeast, pomace, grape, cherry, Williams, mirabelle, fruit) are also produced.
