The estate is located in the municipality Konz-Oberemmel (Saar area) in the German wine-growing region Moselle, It was taken over in 1971 by Maria Willems. The double name results from the fact that her husband Kal bore the same name thanks to a common ancestor. The operation has been run since 2001 by daughter Carolin Hofmann, who had gained experience in Australia and South Africa. Her husband Jürgen Hofmann leads as the second family business a winery in the municipality Appenheim in Rheinhessen, The vineyards cover four hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Altenberg, Karlsberg and Rosenberg (Oberemmel), and Herrenberg (Niedermennig).
