wine Brotherhood

confrérie vineuse (F)
confraternità del vino (I)
wineguild, society (GB)

Wine brotherhoods are mostly non-profit associations or communities whose members share a common love for wine. The goals and the purpose, for example, are aptly described by the guiding principle of the "Austrian Wine Brotherhood" and are certainly generally valid for most: A group of men who stand for the authenticity and authenticity of the wine, who regard it as a "chivalrous" drink and who devote themselves to cultivating wine culture and disseminating knowledge about wine, its history and cultural and historical importance. Of course there are also wine sisterhoods or associations with representatives of both sexes. There are numerous such associations in each country, which also pursue marketing and commercial goals. One of the most famous and oldest wine brotherhoods in the world is the Burgundian one Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, See also under Confrérie vineuse,
