Wine cellar Neckenmarkt

The wine cooperative in the community Neckenmarkt in the Austrian wine region Mittelburgenland was founded in 1968. Responsible cellar master is Gerald Wieder, chairman is Franz Heincz. The vineyards cultivated by 140 members cover a total of 300 hectares in the vineyards of Himmelsthron, Hochberg and Sonnensteig. Almost exclusively red wine varieties are cultivated. The main unique variety is Blaufränkisch (60%) followed by Zweigelt (30%), Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir ( Pinot Noir ) Syrah and Merlot, Since 1992, the so-called “8 grape program” has been used on around 40 hectares of vineyards, with the help of which the yields have been reduced to 5,000 to a maximum of 6,000 kilograms per hectare. A total of 45 companies have agreed to participate in this quality program. Your vineyards, which are at least 30 years old and must be in the best locations in the large Hochberg location, are checked all year round. The winery's flagship is the red wine "Potio Magica" (magic potion) which has been made 100% from the Blaufränkisch variety since the 2008 vintage. Other wines are Blaufränkisch Himmelsthron, the Cuvée Via Romana (40% BF, 40% CS, 20% ZW), as well as the series "Vinis Unitis" (classic) and "Terra Cognita" (barrique). The Winzerkeller Neckenmarkt is a member of the association Blaufränkischland Mittelburgenland,
