The estate is located in the Rödelsee municipality (Steigerwald area) in the German wine-growing region Franconia
, It was founded in 2007 with three rows of vines, from which the name is derived. The Garage Winery
is managed by Christian Ehrlich and Alexandra Müller-Ehrlich as a sideline. The owners' own definition of the story of their origin is “1 thought, 2 lateral thinkers and 3 lines”. The vineyards cover 1.2 hectares in a single location Küchenmeister
(Rödelsee). They are planted with the white varieties Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Bacchus, as well as the red wine Pinot Noir. It is getting closer to nature Organic viticulture
practiced; since 2012 according to the guidelines of Bioland
(certified by ABCERT).
The quality-enhancing yield-reduced grapes are handled with as few interventions as possible organic wines
processed. The fermentation takes place exclusively spontaneous
with natural yeasts from the vineyard to emphasize the typical origin. Experiments are carried out with unusual compositions of cuvées and the storage of white and red wines in classic barriques, if possible from oak from the neighboring Steigerwald. The wines are kept dry. A specialty is a Rebstock sponsorship
offered with one or more vines, with the possibility of at vintage participate.
