The Weinbauring Franken eV is a self-help facility of the Bavarian winemakers based in the city of Kitzingen am Main. The activity of the association extends to the German cultivation area Franconia
, as well as on the Bavarian part of viticulture at the Bodensee and at the Danube
, The aim of the institution is the environmentally friendly, quality-oriented viticulture in Franconia. The tasks are information and support of the Franconian winegrowers and winegrowing enterprises, financial support in the areas of soil investigations for proper fertilization and control of soil-borne pests, support in viticultural and kellerwirtschaftlichen questions, information collection and dissemination (newsletters and lectures), advice information by Operation of weather stations and studies on viticultural issues.
The activity of the vineyard ring Franconia is exercised in consultation with the competent governmental advice, as well as the Bavarian State Institute for viticulture and horticulture in Veitshöchheim. It is thus offered both concrete technical support in questions of viticulture and the cellar industry, as well as a financial support of important investigations for vineyard and cellar. At present, around 4,500 winegrowers with a member vineyard of just under 5,000 hectares are organized (equivalent in both cases to around 80% of the Franconian total values). So far, more than 6,000 soil studies, more than 1,700 biological studies on harmful and beneficial organisms and more than 55,000 must and wine analyzes have been carried out by Weinbau Franken.
