The association was founded in 1989 and is an amalgamation of the local wine associations in südburgenland
(DAC area Eisenberg
). The vision was to work together to create a wine country that is internationally recognized for its special properties. Wine quality is to be improved and joint marketing activities are to be promoted. The two main types of cancer are Blaufränkisch
and Riesling, other typical varieties are Blauburger

, Every year, the 60 best are selected from those wines that live up to the mission statement in a hidden tasting by national wine experts. These are labeled "The best 60 from the wine idyll" and are offered for a year in the regional vinotheque in Moschendorf. Over the years, a number of projects have been realized under the umbrella of this association, such as a nature park on 14,000 hectares, as well as the wine museum in Moschendorf with houses and cellars in their restored original condition from the past four centuries.
