Wine nose

wine nose (GB)
Term for a wine lover who is considered a great wine connoisseur due to his "good nose" - i.e. tasting ability. Jokingly, this is also used for a pronounced wine lover or regular wine connoisseur who can also be seen to have this passion due to his reddish coloured nose. See also under wine address, wine evaluation and wine enjoyment.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
