The winery is located in the cadastral municipality of Kirchberg am Wagram-Engelmannsbrunn in the wine-growing region of Wagram(Lower Austria). The family's winemaking tradition dates back to 1730. The farm is run by Josef and Anna Wöber. The vineyards cover 11.5 hectares of vineyards in the Hammer, Hausberg, Hohenweg, Lugawitz, Satz and Sebran vineyards. 85% of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Roter Veltliner, Müller-Thurgau and Pinot Blanc, the rest with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Blauburger and Blauer Portugieser. Natural viticulture is practised with minimal use of pesticides. Quality criteria are yield limitation and short pruning. The physiologically ripe, healthy grapes are processed by whole bunch pressing with the aim of producing fruity, aroma-rich wines. The premium wines include Riesling Klassik Hausberg, Grüner Veltliner Hammer and Riesling Sebarn.
As honorary chairman of the Domäne Wachau, it is the easiest and quickest way for me to access the wein.plus encyclopaedia when I have questions. The certainty of receiving well-founded and up-to-date information here makes it an indispensable guide.
