The white grape variety comes from Austria. Synonyms are Bettschisser, Drobna Belina, Grobalbig, Großer Franken, Mehlweiß, Quadler, Shulta Belina and Spitzalbig. It is mentioned in the VIVC catalogue as an independent variety, but no parentage (parenthood) is given. It has no commercial significance; in 2016 no stocks were reported (Kym Anderson). See the different varieties of the Heunisch group under Gouais Blanc.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
