Yiannoudi

The red grape variety (also Yiannoudhi) originates from Cyprus. The name is derived from a Yiannis, in whose vineyard it was found. The origin (parentage) is unknown. The vine produces colourful, tannic and full-bodied red wines with aromas of herbs and wild berries and ageing potential. It is cultivated on the slopes of the Troodos Mountains on a few hectares of vines. In 2016, however, no stocks were identified (Kym Anderson).
