The red grape variety (also Yiannoudhi) comes from Cyprus, The name derives from a certain Yiannis, in whose vineyard it was found. The parentage is unknown. The vine produces colorful, tannin and full-bodied red wines with aromas of herbs and wild berries that have storage potential. It is grown on the slopes of the Troodos Mountains on a few hectares of vineyards. In 2010, however, no stocks were reported (Kym Anderson ).
