The white grape variety (also Zagrey) is an interspecific new breeding between Aligoté x Ovidiopolsky. DNA analyses carried out in 2018 revealed that the parentage of Ovidiopolsk x Muscat Rozovy (Muscat Rou ge) given in the breeding list was incorrect. Genes from Vitis amurensis, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera are contained. The hybrid was crossed in Odessa in the Ukraine by Y. N. Dokuchaeva. Plant variety protection was granted in 2006. The medium to late ripening, high-yielding vine is resistant to frost. It yields floral white wines with aromas of lemons and apples. No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
