The estate is located in the municipality Hohenwarth in the southwest of the Lower Austrian wine region Weinviertel
, In 1920, grandfather Johann Wagner was one of the first winemakers in Austria to bottle the wine. The long tradition of the company proves a vintage in 1927 in the estate's own wine store. Today the estate is managed by Ing. Alois Zeilinger. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vines on prehistoric soils and fertile alluvial loess in, for example, the vineyards Hintaus, Hochstraß, Krumpenthal, Laa, fief, Mühlweg and quarry. They are planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Frühroter Veltliner
, Rivaner, Chardonnay, Riesling and Muscat Ottonel, as well as the red varieties Blauburger, Pinot Noir and Rotburger.
The quality standard is based on environmentally conscious processing of the vineyards, voluntary yield reduction to an average of 40 hl / ha, manual harvesting in several passes and gentle cellar technology. For white wines, a whole cluster pressing with cool and slow fermentation takes place. The red wines are fermented with traditional mash fermentation and then remain for a longer time on the mash. The wines of the series "Classic" are filled in 0.375 liter, 0.75 liter and 1.5 liter bottles (Magnum). The premium wines include Grüner Veltliner Lehen, Grüner Veltliner Winberg Weinviertel DAC, Grüner Veltliner from the yeast, Frühroter Veltliner Hintaus, Chardonnay Hohenwarther Freiheit, as well as the red wines Pinot Noir quarry and Blauburger quarry.
