Zelen

The white grape comes from Slovenia, The name means "green" or "green" and is derived from the emerald color of the must. But it is a group of different grape varieties; the "true" Zelen could not yet be identified. There will be a genetic relationship with the variety Verduzzo Friulano from the Italian Friuli supposed, but what DNA standard not yet confirmed. The medium to late ripening vine produces white wines with spicy acidity and spicy herbal notes. It is located in the Vipava Valley (Wipptal) in the region Primorska cultivated. In 2010, however, no stock was reported (Kym Anderson ).
