The white grape variety is a new breed between Bouvier x Furmint, Until 1999 it was called Oremus after the famous location of the same name in the wine-growing region Tokaj-Hegyalja. The cross was made in Hungary in 1951 by the breeder Ferenc Király. The early to medium maturing vine is susceptible to Botrytis and moderately sensitive to wintry frost, The berries have a good balance between sugar and acidity. The variety is excellent for noble sweet Wines and has been for the Tokaj authorized. She occupied in 2010 Hungary a total of 118 hectares of vineyards (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
