The winery is located in the municipality of Dresden-Pillnitz in the German wine-growing region of Saxony. It was founded in 1992 and is run by Klaus Zimmerling. The vineyards cover four hectares of vines in the single vineyard Königlicher Weinberg (Pillnitz). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Kerner, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc and Traminer, as well as Pinot Noir. The vineyards are cultivated in a near-natural, environmentally friendly way according to ecological rules, including the use of no pesticides (including herbicides). Great importance is attached to low yields; even in high-yield years, no more than 30 hectolitres per hectare are harvested.

The top of the quality pyramid includes wines from various varieties from the Königlicher Weinberg, classified as "VDP Grosse Lage" according to the VDP classification. In years with suitable weather conditions, an ice wine (Traminer) is also pressed. Bottle-fermented sparkling wine (Pinot Noir) and balsamic vinegar (Gewürztraminer) are also produced. A special feature are the bottle labels, which show aesthetic sculptures designed by the owner's wife Malgorzata Chodakowska. The winery has been a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates) since the beginning of 2010.
