Zitsa

Appellation in the district of Ioannina in the northwest of the region Epirus ( Greece ) on the border to Albania, which is named after the town of the same name. The vineyards cover about 400 hectares of vines on barren, calcareous soils at 600 to 700 meters above sea level, which are usually fenced for protection against the wild boars. The area is traversed by the river Kalamas. The dry removed POP white wine (dry) and the white sparkling wine and sparkling wine (dry, semi-dry, lovely) unmixed from the indigenous variety Debina (which is also called Zitsa here) pressed.
