Zlatarica Vrgorska

The white grape variety comes from Croatia; the name means "Golden of Vrgorac". Synonyms are Bila Loza, Bioka, Dračkinja, Francavidda, Francavilla, Plavka, Podbel, Zlatarica and Zlatarica Bijela. There is nothing known about a possible connection to the Italian variety Francavidda. It must not be confused with the variety Zlatarica Blatska Bijela. The early to medium ripening vine is susceptible to powdery mildew. It is cultivated in the Dalmatian hinterland around Vrgorac between Split and Dubrovnik; in 2016 no stocks were recorded; in 2010 there were still 19 hectares (statistics Kym Anderson).
