Zlatarica Vrgorska

The white grape variety comes from Croatia; the name means "Golden of Vrgorac". Synonyms are Bila Loza, Bioka, Dračkinja, Francavidda, Francavilla, Plavka, Podbel, Zlatarica and Zlatarica Bijela. Via a possible connection to the Italian variety Francavidda nothing is known. It must not be with the variety Zlatarica Blatska Bijela be confused. The early to medium maturing vine is susceptible to real ones mildew, It is grown in the Dalmatian hinterland around the eponymous city Vrgorac between Split and Dubrovnik. In 2010 a vineyard area of 19 hectares was shown (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
