The white grape comes from Croatia; the name means "Golden of Vrgorac". Synonyms are Bila Loza, Bioka, Dračkinja, Francavidda, Francavilla, Plavka, Podbel, Zlatarica and Zlatarica Bijela. About a possible connection to the Italian species Francavidda nothing is known. She is not allowed with the variety Zlatarica Blatska Bijela be confused. The early to middle-seasoning vine is prone to real mildew, It is grown in the Dalmatian hinterland around the eponymous town of Vrgorac between Split and Dubrovnik.
