Znovin Znojmo

The Moravian corporation "Znovín Znojmo AS" or vineyard is headquartered in Satov (Schattau). This one of the biggest producers Czech Republic The growing business produces five million liters of wine every year. This corresponds to around 3.5% of the Czech annual consumption. It produces a wide range of varietal and brand wines and also sects from the best locations of the Znojemská winegrowing area. The Prädikatsweine are marketed under the label "Terroir Club". The products are matured in the Moravian cellar of Satov, where there is also a large wine archive. Owned is also the famous Sobes vineyard in the National Park Thayatal. The cellars for the production of white wines are located in Primetice, which includes the famous 18th century Jesuit cellar. The red wines are vinified in the cellar of Jaroslavice (Joslowiz). The local archive cellar contains the oldest Czech wines back to the year 1945.

In Znojmo, a part of the famous Premonstratensian monastery Louka, founded by Archbishop Norbert of Xanten (1080-1134), was rented, where a gallery, a museum of winegrowing and barrel-making, and congresses are held. The company founded the first Czech shipping service for wines. Every year, hikes through the vineyards of Znojmo are organized. Since 1997 the tourist viticulture program has been prepared. The joint-stock company also owns the "Agrovíno Vrbovec" plant, which delivers 170 hectares of vineyards for processing. These wines mature in a historic sandstone cellar from 1770 in the municipality Chvalovice (Kallendorf) on the border with Austria. The basement, 25 meters below the surface of the earth, once served as tithe cellar the monastery Louka. The 200-meter-long aisles contain 60 oak barrels with a volume of 100,000 liters of wine. Every year around 300,000 liters of wine are produced, of which 25% are bottled wines.
