Zöhlhof - Josef Unterfrauner

The estate is located in the municipality of Feldthurns in the Eisack Valley in the Italian wine sector South-Tirol (Region Trentino-Alto Adige ). It has been in the family for many generations. The company owns a historic building, which was first mentioned in 1484. A renovation is planned to use it for events on the farm. Today the company is run by Josef Unterfrauner. In 2001 the cooperative left the company with the start of its own marketing. The vineyards cover 2.2 hectares of vineyards at 600 meters above sea level with well-drained soil made from a mixture of sand, gravel and Klausit. They are planted with the white varieties Gewürztraminer, Sylvaner and Müller-Thurgau, as well as with the red varieties Blauer Portugieser and Regent. The switch to was made in 1994 Organic viticulture according to the guidelines of the association Bioland, Practices of the Biodynamic viticulture applied. The product range includes the white wine cuvée Aurum (aged in stainless steel), the red wine cuvée Regius (aged in large wooden barrels) and the Eisack Valley Gewürztraminer. 10,000 to 12,000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
