The estate is located in the community Schrattenthal south of Retz
in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Weinviertel
near the border with the Czech Republic. It is run by Werner Zull, son Phillip is responsible for cellar and vinification. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Outer Mountains and Inner Mountains and on the southern slopes of the Manhartsberg. They are 65% of the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Muller-Thurgau and Welschriesling, and planted to 35% with the red varieties Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Blue Portugal, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The goal is characterful, typical of the region wines with storage potential. The wines are either classic in steel tanks or large wooden barrels, the wines from top locations partly expanded in oak barrels. The premium wines include several Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner), Pinot Noir and the red wine cuvée "Schrattenthal 9" (Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot). In weather-appropriate years also Trockenbeerenauslese and ice wines are pressed. It also produces brandies (wine, pomace). The winery is a member of the association Premium wineries Weinviertel
, as its chairman Werner Zull acts.
