The estate is located in the municipality of Schrattenthal south of Retz
in the Lower Austrian wine region Weinviertel
near the border with the Czech Republic. It is run by Werner Zull, son Phillip is responsible for the cellar and vinification. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Outer Mountains and Inner Mountains and on the southern slopes of the Manhartsberg. 65% of them are planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau and Welschriesling, and 35% with the red varieties Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Blauer Portugieser, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The aim is to create wines that are full of character and typical of the area and have the potential to be stored. The wines are either classic in steel tanks or large wooden barrels, some of the wines from top locations in barrels. The premium wines include several Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner), Pinot Noir and the red wine blend "Schrattenthal 9" (Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot). When the weather is good, dry berries and ice wines are also pressed. Fine brandies (wine, pomace) are also produced. The winery is a member of the association Premium wineries Weinviertel
, whose chairman is Werner Zull.
